Beautiful Light Review by Don C.
Provides a nice light that is adjustable for different lighting conditions. The light that emits from this unit is wonderful. About the only nit is that the lag in increasing or deceasing the brightness can be annoying, but doesn’t distract from everything else. Hope that the wireless option solves it, at least for my applications. (Posted on 03/10/2015)
Z720s ULTRACOLOR BICOLOR Review by Wilbert W.
My first impression was that the quality of light seems to be improved from the hdr300. You have a little more control in lower light output. The HDR 300 seemed to be a little choppy at low output wear as the z720s is very smooth. Although I do love the smoothness the smoothness is a little too slow for quick adjustments, making it very easy to over expose. The Kelvin side seems to pirate well but I did notice it was a choppy transition from 5600 kelvin to 5500 Kelvin. Maybe making that more smooth would be better although not that huge of a deal. Using the 5d Mark III I did notice a magenta tone in my recordings. Still didn't determine if it's coming from the light output or just how the camera translates the light, but doing a white balance adjustment of green 5 kinda solved the problem. The connection to the rail mount is ok for a studio setup. I bought it to be mobile so it is a little shaky durning movement but overall not too bad. The build quality is alright. It would be nice to have some sort of locking or Velcro strap feature to keep the milk filter from falling off of you get bumped. I had that happen to me a lot with the HDR 300. The cost of the light is a little excessive. But this is the only ring light on the market I've seen with these features.

Another great thing about this light is that since the ring light is large, not only will you be able to use any lens, but but now even at a low output, the light will fully cover the whole frame you are capturing, rather then leave the corners dark like the hdr300 at low output. The HDR 300 I had to put white paper behind the milk filter to correct this problem and also allow people to look directly into the light as the milk filter wasn't good enough. The z720s corrected this problem and I no longer need to add the white paper.

I would recommend this product. F&V is great at making lighting products and A+ when it comes to customer service. Thanks. (Posted on 03/10/2015)
